Criminal Trial Lawyer

While most defense attorneys spend only 3 years and leave the DA's office, Paul spent close to 7 years in the trenches of the Criminal Justice Center trying every kind of case he could in order to make sure he was in a position to DEFEND every kind of case. His experience isn't just a headline on a resume, it is real experience. He tried cases against the best defense attorneys and won. He has also established a reputation amongst his colleagues as a fighter, someone who will not back down when confronted with adversity. Harris County prosecutors can take Paul at his word. His blend of youthful ideas and enthusiasm with his aggressive approach has helped him achieve one of the top reputations in this part of Texas.

Specialized DWI and Intoxication Manslaughter Experience

In terms of experience and relationships, Paul has trained many of the current prosecutors at the Harris County District Attorney's Office as well as new prosecutors across the state. As a member of the Vehicular Assault Team, Paul traveled Texas training prosecutors and police officers on the ever evolving DWI law and crash scene reconstruction. Paul successfully tried one of the highest profile intoxication manslaughter cases in Harris County in the last decade. Having responded to many crash scene involving fatalities, Paul has unique experience in crash scene evidence collection.

Coveted Special Crimes Experience

As a prosecutor in the elite Special Crimes Bureau, Paul worked hand in hand with officers handling large narcotics cases and answering calls regarding legal issues that arise. Paul was on call for these officers 24 hours a day and this experience give Paul a unique ability to look at cases and find the potential legal or factual weaknesses of the case. Through Paul's hard work, he has developed an outstanding relationship with law enforcement which, at times, can be incredibly valuable in making sure the right outcome occurs.

Civil Experience

After graduating from Texas Law School, Paul trained under some of the most successful civil attorneys in the country. Paul assisted Steve Hackerman and Tom Alexander as they tried high profile, high dollar civil suits. Paul realized he wasn't going to get the trial experience watching someone else talk to juries so he went to the District Attorney's Office to get instant trial experience.

A Rice degree, a University of Texas law degree, training under some of the best civil trial attorneys, real trial experience in the trenches of the Criminal Justice Center, and being raised by one of the best trial lawyers around (his father James E. Doyle), Paul has all of the tools to make sure his clients are taken care.

Some of the civil cases Paul worked are the Courtyard by Marriot Limited Partnership disputes, National Medical Enterprises disputes, Blockbuster antitrust lawsuit.
